Talking of yellow-white-grey last time here is another beautiful example. Situated in the somewhat unlikely badlands of Salt River, Cape Town, this coffee shop must be a retreat amongst a fast-paced street of sweatshops and half-empty general stores.
Furniture and fittings are a mix of vintage finds and things made by local designers and craftspeople. Tables and benches are by local designers Xandre Kriel and Adriaan Hugo – both represented by Whatiftheworld / Design Studio – and the walls show off an enviable array of local art and design, with works Brett Murray and Doktor and Misses amongst them.

There is a new room in our flat to be designed and this will be the colour scheme. The most beautiful bed out there: Lazy Night by Patricia Urquiola for B&B Italia. Unfortunately buying it will stay a dream for now…

After the Copenhagen Furniture fair changed into Code ’09 the Stockholm Furniture Fair is the new mecca for everyone interested in Scandinavian Interior Design. Is is said that 1.000 sqm have been added to last years size. Yet it felt quite intimate and relaxed to me. While having drinks and free barista specialties you were able to personally get in touch with the biggest names in Scandinavian design as well as with newcomers.
I hope that some products will find their way into our shop. And here they are: my favourites from this years Stockholm Design Week.

The biggest reward of travelling to freezing Stockholm in february is our new cooperation with STRING Sweden. Several customers have asked me to have it in the shop. Now it is back into production and finally they let us have it! Thanks so much. At LYS in March 2010.
